Making Saint Louis the Nature City of the 21st Century

September 26, 2025
9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Bayer Event Center, Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63110

Building on the momentum of last year’s inaugural event and the long-standing efforts of many across the region, the Living Earth Collaborative is hosting the second annual Making Saint Louis the Nature City of the 21st Century symposium—an urban biodiversity symposium focused on collaboration and action.

This year’s gathering will bring together researchers, practitioners, governmental and NGO partners to share bold visions for urban biodiversity, reflect on challenges that persist, and highlight innovative programs driving change. We will explore how to strengthen partnerships between researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders to advance biodiversity in urban environments.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Doug Tallamy, co-founder of Homegrown National Park, as this year’s plenary speaker.

In addition to featured presentations and panel discussions, working groups launched during the first symposium will report on their progress.

This event is by invitation only. For questions or more information, please contact us at livingearth@wustl.edu.

This event is supported by WashU’s Center for the Environment.

People of all abilities are welcome and encouraged to attend all events hosted by the Living Earth Collaborative.
